Change in time!

Dear friends,

Important news: from this week on, GBC is shifting its starting time. We are now meeting at the usual location from 3.30pm until 5.30pm. I think this is a great change which will give us more opportunity to chill out as well as help those of us heading off to other churches after GBC to get there on time.

I hope you can make it this Sunday, at 3.30.

Christian mission is our topic for today, and whether you are a Christian or not, this is surely a hot topic for many of us. So why not come and join us at GBC today.

Our walk from Spit to Manly exceeded all expectations. The views across the harbour are just wonderful. Here are a few shots from along the way.

New Spit to Manly Date! 27 Feb, 10AM.

Dear friends,

We have a new date for our exciting Spit to Manly outing: We’d love to invite you to join us for this beautiful walk on Saturday, 27th February. We are meeting at 10am at the left side of the Spit Bridge and will casually stroll over to Manly.

The Spit to Manly is one of the most beautiful bushwalks along the Middle Harbour. The track is 9kms long and takes approximately 4 hours. Children are welcome – and we’ll be bringing our two – but be mindful of the length of the walk. I’ll bring a carry backpack to help our kids.

We are planning to have at least one small picnic break, followed by a late but nice lunch at the Manly Bavarian Beer Cafe. Return to Spit bridge is by bus.

Lord’s Prayer – Das Vaterunser

We’ll continue to grasp Jesus’ vision of the kingdom of the heavens today as we look at the Lord’s Prayer in the Gospel of Matthew. It is part of the Sermon on the Mount (die Bergpredigt) and we have already seen just how radical Jesus’ teaching is in this sermon! Is the Lord’s Prayer maybe just as radical? Let’s find out!

Spit to Manly postpone due to bad weather

Hey all,

The weather doesn’t look very nice and the forecast is for showers, so we have decided to save our Spit-to-Manly walk for a better opportunity, probably one of the next few Saturdays.

Social Event: Spit to Manly Walk

Liebe GBC Freunde,

Es ist wieder einmal soweit! Zeit sich vom Alltag zu verabschieden, und zusammen das Wochenende so richtig zu geniessen, an einem der schönsten Flecken Sydney’s! Wir möchten Euch ganz herzlich einladen mit uns den “Spit to Manly Walk” zu machen, am Samstag, den 13. Februar 2010. Um 10 Uhr treffen wir uns am Parkplatz auf der linken Seite der Spitbridge und spazieren dann gemütlich bis nach Manly.

Der Spit to Manly Walk ist einer der schönsten Bushwalks entlang der Sydney Northern Beaches. Der Track ist ca. 9 km lang, dauert knappe 4 Stunden und führt an idyllischen Buchten des Middle Harbours entlang. Kinder sind recht herzlich willkommen (und meine zwei werden auch dabei sein!), bitte denkt aber an die Länge der Wanderung und bringt ggf. einen Tragerucksack mit.

Wir planen mindestens eine Verschnaufpause mit kleinem Picknick, und am Ende erwartet uns das Bavarian Beer Café in Manly, für ein spätes aber tolles Mittagessen. Zurück nehmen wir den Bus von Manly nach Spit.

Travel across 2000 years in time this Sunday as we are going right back to the beginnings of Jesus Christ – the man at the centre of history. Hear him speak, see him act and even watch him go into battle. Will Jesus survive? Let’s see just how close we can get!
